The Farrington International Event is a classic in the world of cross-discipline saddles. While the Henley is the "king of the cobs," the International Event is designed for a more athletic, "sport horse" profile—think Thoroughbreds, Irish Sport Horses, and Warmbloods with defined withers.

It is a true Eventing GP, meaning it is forward-cut enough for jumping and cross-country but remains comfortable for schooling and hacking.

Key Features of the International Event

Wither Clearance: Unlike the flatter Henley tree, the International Event is built on a tree designed for horses with medium to high withers. It has a deeper "head" (the front arc of the saddle) to ensure it clears the spine even on narrower or more prominent wither shapes.

Security for Jumping: It features a square cantle, which is more traditional for jumping and Eventing as it allows the rider more room to move their weight back when descending banks or approaching large fences.

Fixed Blocks: It comes with fixed front knee blocks and thigh blocks, providing a very secure "leg channel" that keeps the rider stable during faster work or unexpected spooking.

Flap Design: The flap is more forward-cut than a standard GP, which accommodates a shorter stirrup length for jumping without the rider’s knee going over the front of the saddle.
